Namibian Staple Food

Millet is the staple food of the Owambo tribe in Namibia. After pounding and winning it's mixed with water and cooked over the fire fueled by cows' dung until it achieves porridge-like consistency. This demands constant and careful mixing.

Millet can also be fermented into a beer-like drink, which–at least to my unaccustomed Western stomach–tasted like rancid invitation to a food poisoning.
